GullsEye’s Participation in TIC 4.0 General Assembly: Advancing Port Industry Standards

On April 19th, 2024, GullsEye had the privilege of attending the TIC 4.0 General Assembly held at the historic ‘Edificio del Reloj’ in the Port of Valencia. This significant gathering coincided with the Container Terminal Automation Conference, organized by Port Technology International, and attracted around 100 representatives, both in-person and online, a record turnout since the association’s inception.

About TIC 4.0

The Terminal Industry Committee 4.0 (TIC 4.0) is a non-profit international association, dedicated to promoting, defining, and adopting standards that enable the cargo handling industry to embrace the Fourth Industrial Revolution. By establishing common process semantics, language, and operational definitions, TIC 4.0 facilitates seamless data communication and interoperability among various stakeholders in the port industry. As GullsEye, we are proud members of this association.

Key Highlights from the Assembly

During the assembly, several pivotal topics were discussed:

– Technical Developments: The association presented its recent technical activities, including the publication of reference White Papers focused on the ‘Health’ concept of port equipment, the definition of standard Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and advancements in terminal automation.

– Operational Council Establishment: The General Assembly announced the formation of the Operation Council, tasked with managing the standardization process of TIC 4.0. This council aims to streamline efforts in defining and implementing industry wide standards.
